What is Value vs Feasibility Matrix?
A 2×2 visual framework that plots initiatives by their strategic value and implementation feasibility.
A value vs feasibility matrix is a two-dimensional visual framework for prioritizing initiatives. The vertical axis represents strategic value (business impact, revenue potential, strategic alignment) and the horizontal axis represents feasibility (technical complexity, resource requirements, organizational readiness). Initiatives are plotted into four quadrants: Quick Wins (high value, high feasibility — execute immediately), Strategic Bets (high value, low feasibility — invest in de-risking), Nice-to-Haves (low value, high feasibility — do if capacity allows), and Distractions (low value, low feasibility — eliminate). The matrix is particularly effective for executive communication and workshop facilitation. It complements quantitative methods like RICE scoring by providing an intuitive visual perspective on trade-offs.
