AI TRAINING
Canva AI for Small-Business Marketing
Create on-brand social content at scale using Canva AI, without hiring a designer.
What it covers
A hands-on workshop teaching owner-operators and solo marketers how to use Canva's AI features — Magic Design, Magic Write, and brand kits — to produce consistent, localised marketing content. Participants leave with a working brand kit, a ready-to-publish social media pack, and a repeatable batch-content workflow. Sessions combine live demos with guided practice on participants' own business assets. No design experience required.
What you'll be able to do
- Build a complete Canva brand kit using your own business logo, colours, and fonts
- Generate a week's worth of on-brand social media posts using Magic Design and Magic Write in under one hour
- Produce localised content variants for at least two platforms (e.g. Instagram and Facebook) from a single master template
- Set up a repeatable batch-content workflow to plan and export monthly campaigns independently
- Identify which Canva AI features save the most time for your specific content needs
Topics covered
- Setting up and applying a brand kit (colours, fonts, logo) in Canva
- Using Magic Design to generate on-brand visual templates instantly
- Writing and refining marketing copy with Magic Write
- Building a localised social media content pack for multiple platforms
- Batch-generating content variants for promotions and seasonal campaigns
- Maintaining visual consistency across channels without a designer
- Exporting and scheduling content directly from Canva
Delivery
Delivered in person or virtually in a single day (6–8 hours including breaks). Participants work on their own laptops with a free or Pro Canva account set up in advance. At least 70% of session time is hands-on practice. A printed quick-reference card and a starter template pack are provided. Remote delivery uses screen-sharing breakout rooms for individual coaching.
What makes it work
- Completing the brand kit before the workshop so participants can practise on real assets
- Assigning a 30-minute weekly 'content block' immediately after training to reinforce the new workflow
- Using Canva's content planner to build a visible pipeline that sustains the habit
- Sharing the starter template pack with any future staff or freelancers to maintain consistency
Common mistakes
- Skipping brand kit setup and using inconsistent colours and fonts across every post
- Over-relying on Magic Write output without editing for brand voice, resulting in generic copy
- Creating each post individually instead of using batch templates, losing most of the time-saving benefit
- Not saving custom templates, forcing the business to restart from scratch each campaign
When NOT to take this
This workshop is not the right fit for a business that already has a dedicated in-house designer or a brand agency managing all visual output — the efficiency gains are minimal and the workflow will conflict with existing creative processes.
