AI TRAINING
Shopify to AI-Enabled E-Commerce for Small Merchants
Leave with a working AI setup across your Shopify store, from product copy to customer support.
What it covers
A one-day, hands-on workshop for Shopify merchants who want to use AI tools already built into or natively integrated with their store. Participants practise with Shopify Magic for product descriptions and email campaigns, explore Sidekick for store Q&A, configure AI-powered support apps, and learn to review-summarise at scale. The session includes a practical guardrails module covering how to catch and correct hallucinated product specifications before they reach customers.
What you'll be able to do
- Generate and publish AI-written product descriptions using Shopify Magic with a human-review step in place
- Configure Sidekick to answer common store management questions and surface basic performance data
- Set up at least one AI-powered customer support app and define its escalation rules
- Apply a simple checklist to detect hallucinated product specs before content goes live
- Create an AI-assisted SEO content brief for a product category page
Topics covered
- Shopify Magic: generating and editing product descriptions at scale
- AI-drafted email campaigns with Shopify Magic Email
- Sidekick: using Shopify's AI assistant for store insights and tasks
- AI-powered customer support apps (e.g. Tidio, Gorgias AI)
- Automated review summarisation for product pages
- AI-assisted SEO content and meta-tag generation
- Spotting and correcting hallucinated product specifications
- Setting basic guardrails and approval workflows for AI-generated content
Delivery
Delivered in-person or live-online with screen-sharing. Participants work on their own live Shopify stores throughout the day, so learning is immediately applicable. Facilitator ratio is 1:12 maximum. A shared Notion workspace with prompt templates, a hallucination-check checklist, and app configuration guides is provided and retained after the session. Approximately 70% hands-on exercises, 30% facilitated demonstration.
What makes it work
- Designating one person per store as the AI content reviewer before any content goes live
- Starting with a single high-impact use case — usually product descriptions — before expanding to other tools
- Keeping a short prompt library so the AI output stays consistent with the brand voice
- Reviewing AI-generated support responses weekly during the first month to catch recurring errors
Common mistakes
- Publishing Shopify Magic output without checking technical specs such as dimensions, materials, or compatibility claims
- Over-automating customer support without defining clear escalation paths to a human agent
- Treating AI-generated SEO content as final without aligning it to actual keyword research
- Enabling every available AI app at once, creating overlapping or conflicting automations
When NOT to take this
A merchant who has not yet set up consistent product data, photography, or pricing logic across their catalogue — they will get low-quality AI output and should fix data foundations first.
