What is Predictive Analytics?

Using statistical models and machine learning to forecast future outcomes from historical data.

Predictive analytics uses statistical algorithms, machine learning models, and historical data to forecast future outcomes. In transformation contexts, predictive analytics can forecast initiative outcomes, predict resource bottlenecks, estimate time-to-value, and identify at-risk programs. Moving from descriptive analytics (what happened?) to predictive analytics (what will happen?) represents a significant step in analytics maturity.
