What it covers

This hands-on workshop equips project managers and operations leaders with the practical skills to leverage Monday.com's native AI capabilities — including the AI assistant, workflow automations, doc summarisation, and auto-fill columns. Participants will work through real project scenarios to configure AI-powered boards, set up intelligent automations, and establish governance guardrails appropriate for larger organisations. By the end, attendees can immediately apply these features to reduce administrative overhead and improve project visibility across teams.

What you'll be able to do

  • Configure AI auto-fill columns to automatically populate status, priority, and next-step fields based on item context
  • Build at least three AI-assisted automation recipes that reduce manual update tasks
  • Use Monday Docs AI to generate structured project summaries and action logs from raw notes
  • Define and apply a governance policy specifying which AI features are enabled for which teams and data types
  • Measure baseline versus post-AI time spent on administrative project tasks using Monday's built-in dashboards

Topics covered

  • Monday.com AI assistant: prompting for status updates, summaries, and action items
  • AI-powered auto-fill columns: configuration and use cases
  • Doc summarisation and AI-generated meeting notes in Monday Docs
  • Workflow automation with AI-suggested recipes
  • Board design best practices for AI readiness
  • Governance patterns: permissions, data sensitivity, and audit trails
  • Integrating Monday AI with third-party tools (Slack, Outlook, Jira)
  • Measuring AI impact: time saved and adoption metrics

Delivery

Delivered as a full-day in-person or virtual instructor-led workshop. Participants need access to a Monday.com Pro or Enterprise workspace during the session; a sandbox environment can be provided. Approximately 60% of the day is hands-on exercises on real or representative boards. A facilitator guide and recorded session replay are included. Remote delivery uses breakout rooms for small-group board challenges. Post-workshop, a reference playbook (PDF) covering all AI features and governance templates is shared.

What makes it work

  • Auditing existing board structures and cleaning up column naming conventions before activating AI features
  • Appointing a Monday.com AI champion per department to socialise best practices and collect feedback
  • Establishing a written governance policy covering which workspaces may use AI and how AI-generated content is reviewed before sharing externally
  • Tracking a small set of adoption KPIs (e.g., auto-fill acceptance rate, time to status update) to demonstrate ROI and sustain momentum

Common mistakes

  • Enabling all AI features organisation-wide without reviewing data-sensitivity settings, exposing confidential project information to AI processing
  • Using AI auto-fills on poorly structured boards, producing unreliable outputs that erode team trust in the feature
  • Treating the AI assistant as a replacement for proper board hygiene rather than a complement to clean data practices
  • Rolling out Monday AI without training non-PM stakeholders who consume AI-generated summaries, leading to misinterpretation

When NOT to take this

Organisations that have not yet standardised on Monday.com and are still evaluating whether to adopt it — they need a platform selection workshop first, not a feature-depth AI training.
