Basic digital literacy; no coding or prior AI experience required — participants should have decision-making authority or operational ownership over at least one business process

What it covers

A cohort-based six-week programme designed for SME leadership and operators ready to move from AI curiosity to a shipped pilot. Each week covers a distinct phase: mapping opportunities, selecting the right use case, building a minimum viable AI workflow, measuring impact, governing responsibly, and planning for scale. Participants leave with a working pilot, documented ROI, and a prioritised roadmap for their next AI initiative.

What you'll be able to do

  • Identify and prioritise at least three AI automation opportunities using a structured opportunity-mapping framework
  • Select and justify a first AI use case against criteria including feasibility, data readiness, and expected ROI
  • Build and deploy a minimum viable AI workflow using no-code or low-code tools within the programme duration
  • Measure the pilot's impact in quantifiable terms — hours saved per week and estimated annual cost reduction
  • Draft a one-page AI governance policy covering data handling, GDPR obligations, and acceptable use for your organisation

Topics covered

  • Mapping internal processes to identify high-value AI opportunities
  • Evaluating and selecting a feasible first AI use case
  • Building a minimum viable AI workflow with no-code or low-code tools
  • Measuring time saved, cost reduction, and quality improvements
  • AI governance basics: data privacy, GDPR, and responsible use policies
  • Scaling a successful pilot across the organisation
  • Change management and team adoption tactics
  • Building an AI roadmap aligned to business priorities

Delivery

Delivered as six weekly live online sessions of 2.5-3 hours each, supplemented by async assignments and peer cohort discussion. Each session combines short instruction (30%), guided group work (40%), and participant-specific coaching (30%). Materials include editable templates for opportunity mapping, use-case selection scorecards, ROI tracking sheets, and a governance policy starter. An optional in-person kickoff day can be added for geographically co-located cohorts.

What makes it work

  • Assign a named internal champion with at least two hours per week freed up to own the pilot end-to-end
  • Establish a quantitative baseline for the target process before week three so impact can be measured objectively
  • Include at least one person from the team that will use the AI output daily — their buy-in determines adoption
  • Commit to a post-programme review at 60 days to validate ROI and decide on the next use case

Common mistakes

  • Selecting a use case that is technically interesting but has no measurable business impact, leaving leadership unconvinced after the pilot
  • Skipping the measurement week and shipping a pilot without baseline data, making ROI claims impossible to substantiate
  • Involving only IT or only leadership — without operational staff who own the process, adoption fails at handover
  • Treating the pilot as the finish line rather than the starting point, with no governance or scaling plan in place

When NOT to take this

This programme is not the right fit for a solo founder or a team where no single person can commit recurring time each week — the cohort model requires consistent attendance and active pilot work between sessions to deliver value.
