What is Product Trio?
The three-person collaboration model — Product Manager, Designer, Engineering Lead — that owns discovery and delivery for a product area.
The product trio replaces 'PM-as-translator' with shared ownership across discovery and delivery. The PM owns desirability and viability, the designer owns usability, the engineer owns feasibility — and all three meet customers, all three see the data. Popularized by Marty Cagan and Teresa Torres, the trio model is now standard in product-led companies because it cuts the latency between insight and shipping. It only works when the trio is empowered to make their own bets.
